Peter Klasen, born in 1935 in Lübeck, Germany, is a major artist of narrative figuration. This pictorial movement, which emerged in France in the 1960s, is characterized by a return to figuration and a critique of consumer society.

Klasen is particularly renowned for his works combining industrial elements (machines, gears, pipes) with fragments of the female body, often legs or mouths.
