Jo Di Bona

Jo Di Bona, a leading figure in Parisian street art, is the originator of Pop Graffiti, a unique technique combining collage, graffiti and pop culture. His works, rich in color and movement, pay tribute to both icons and the anonymous, reflecting his generous view of humanity.

Winner of the EDF Foundation's 1st Graffiti Prize in 2014, he has since created numerous frescoes, exhibited internationally and worked with prestigious institutions, such as Paris' Immigration Museum. His work is acclaimed by the media, with appearances on France 2, M6 and in art magazines. In 2024, he published his first monograph with Gallimard and became a volunteer ambassador for the Paris Olympic Games.

Biography

Jo Di Bona, a leading figure in the Parisian Street Art scene, rose to prominence with a unique technique he developed himself: Pop Graffiti. Blending collage, various influences from graffiti, and pop culture, he has established himself as a true "modern-day Fauvist." Through vibrant colors and dynamic movements, Jo brings to life faces filled with poetry, emotion, and joy. His works pay tribute to both historical figures and anonymous individuals encountered by chance, reflecting his generous view of humanity. For him, sharing is essential.

Awarded the prestigious First Prize for Graffiti by the EDF Foundation in 2014, Jo Di Bona has since continued to exhibit internationally, perform live, and paint large-scale murals. Among his major works are a monumental piece at the Museum of Immigration in Paris, murals in Lisbon as part of Loures Arte Pública, and collaborations with the French Consulate in Atlanta. He has also stood out alongside his gallery partners at international art fairs in New York, Miami, London, Hong Kong, Lausanne, Madrid, and Munich. His works were prominently featured in the "Street Art for Mankind" exhibitions in New York and Miami in 2017 and 2018.

Widely covered by the media, Jo Di Bona has made notable appearances on France 2’s news, M6, BFM TV, and the show Télématin. He has graced the covers of Arts Magazine, Street Art Magazine, Paris Tonkar, and was named one of "10 Artists to Watch in 2016" by Artsper. In 2018, he ranked in the top 5 favorite street artists on Konbini and was featured on the front page of The New York Times for his tribute mural created at Le Petit Cambodge. Jo Di Bona was one of the first street artists to have entered the headquarters of the United Nations in New York in January 2017, and he is listed among the 25 international artists in the Urban Contemporary Art Guide from 2019 to 2024.

He has been featured in numerous art publications and released his first monograph in May 2024, published by Gallimard // Alternatives. Today, Jo Di Bona is the official ambassador for the volunteer program of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
