Greg Léon Guillemin
French artist born in 1967, lives and works in Paris Greg Léon Guillemin is a French artist born in 1967. He achieved great success with his series Secret Life of Heroes, which portrays iconic figures from pop culture placed in humorous or everyday situations.
After working for 20 years as an art director, he decided in 2010 to pursue his own creative projects. His first works were created using Photoshop and Illustrator and shared digitally. His series Exercices de Style and Paper Heroes were met with immediate enthusiasm from the public. In 2013, with the Secret Life of Heroes series, he began experimenting with acrylic paint while continuing to explore digital formats. His early exhibitions met with tremendous success in both Europe and the United States.
In the following series, Pop Icons and Pop Mix, the artist continued to challenge and subvert pop culture icons—sometimes humorously, sometimes with a more critical edge. This idea of reinterpretation and appropriation became central to his work. While drawing heavily from geek culture (comics, video games, science fiction…), he is clearly recognized as a new figure in Pop Art, bringing elements of pop culture and everyday life into the realm of art.
Today, media outlets and brands frequently call on his originality for illustrations, covers, and collaborations. His bold, graphic style—reminiscent of Roy Lichtenstein—stands out, and in just a few years, Greg “Léon” Guillemin has successfully transitioned beyond the digital sphere to establish himself in galleries, magazines, and festivals around the world.

Superheroes, bold colors, and a razor-sharp sense of humor—this is the unmistakable signature of Greg Guillemin, known as Léon to those in the know.
From the comic books of his childhood, he has captured the features of our favorite heroes, playfully reimagining them with the mischief of a modern-day Peter Pan, from Marvel characters to Walt Disney icons. From his past in advertising agencies, he retained a flair for striking, high-impact imagery that grabs attention at first glance.
Celebrated worldwide from its inception, his prolific SLOH (Secret Life Of Heroes) series is the perfect blend of these influences: Catwoman, renamed “Cat Pacifier,” lazily licks a lollipop, while Mr. Clean stains his T-shirt with ketchup… Digital culture and current events constantly feed his repertoire and inspiration, with a strong nod to social media and societal phenomena.
Originally digital, Greg Guillemin’s works have come to life on canvas since 2013 through a mixed technique combining bold acrylic flats with stencils and spray paint borrowed from street art.
A leading figure of contemporary Pop Art, Greg Léon Guillemin has held over fifty exhibitions worldwide and has become a reference in the art world. Yet he continues to surprise us, inviting us not only to smile—but also to reflect.
